I have mine set on 1000base and it will only do 100base. It tries to do 1000base at first, you can see the dlink managed switch light blink green at first, then it gives up and goes too 100base. It passes through 200 foot of shielded cat-5 then a GigE-APC-HV. I have also tried a 430APC-HV with same result.
