Yeah, but the setting seems to be completely removed in both airOS 7 and
8... I'm assuming it's just always on, since there's really no good reason
to turn it off anyway.

It looks like all of our AC links are either running 7.1.1 or 7.2 beta...
it might be worth trying the current beta firmware if nothing else works.
