I honestly don't care about the government reading my crap. If they want that kind of boredom, more power to them.
My biggest concern is a failure in the cloud, or cloud hosted VM's. I recently made the mistake of letting Windows Update install a Suse network driver over my KVM based VM image. That killed one of my VM's and it took me a while to figure out how to recover from that. But most VM host companies do image and delta backups that make it point and click restore. I can span the images across the country and bring up anywhere they have locations. And I can download VM images directly from the site and they pull up in my Win 10 HyperV host with a simple conversion. Quite remarkable. I wonder that anyone uses bare metal anything now days. -----Original Message----- From: Af [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Paul McCall Sent: Monday, January 18, 2016 3:32 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [AFMUG] OT: Exchange Server replacement I know, I know.... It's already being done, honestly. I understand you think it's the principle of the thing, but we live in a day and age where everything we do is tracked and recorded, and there's really no true way to get away from it. Someone interested enough could probably real them in almost real-time.
