Good to know, I was going to use a 6104 to replace an analog system, maybe I'll look harder at moving it to SIP.

Yes, 4 FXO's :/

Random crashes/reboots of the unit after a certain firmware. Don't
remember the version. This was between 6-12 months ago.

Also had quite an echo problem on the FXO's that we couldn't resolve,
despite changing volume settings and other things (codecs, etc). Other
users reported the same FXO issues and grandstream never responded
other than going through the normal troubleshooting steps. It was
reproducable.

What issues did you have with the 6104? Were you using analog trunk lines?
I haven't done any yet that weren't sip, but I have one coming up.

6104 is the model we had issues with. I deployed 2160's and 2140's.

I've been very happy with the Grandstream phones 2140 and 2160. I
really
like that the 2160 has the sidecar built in, no need to add anything
extra.
Only have had 1 failure so far. Phone had the display go out. RMA'd
without an issue. While finding a hefty piece of wood to knock on, I
haven't had any stability issues with the 6104. Started deploying them
about a year and a half ago. Price is definitely good too.

Man, the Greandstream UCM platform is *pretty darn good*, but I had
some stability issues on the 6104. I really want to like it and for it
to work, but it has some quirks. It's stupid easy to use, and sitll
lets you drop down and debug asterisk directly.

I recently did an install replacing an old Toshiba PBX and used

advantage of zero touch config. Not sure if you are configuring the

via TFTP or manually.

For this customer we did put in one of the Grandstream DECT phones
(DP715)
and it worked fine. Havent tried adding more DECT handsets to the
base
yet, but is supposed to work.

What is it they like about the Panasonic phones?

Subject: [AFMUG] OT Sip Phones

Anyone used the Panasonic sip phones? I have a business office that
doesnt
like the UBNT products due to the feel of the handset etc. They also
want a
DECT wireless option.

Personally I am OK with AASTRA but in this situation I am trying to
make
front office folks happy. We will be turning down their old panasonic
key
system soon and I want to try to approximate the type of handset they
have
been using. Could just swap handsets but they dont work and they
dont fit
the switchhook of the sip phones.
