Hmm...when the AP transmits, every SM receives it. Maybe it could send a test pattern for 2 seconds at each data rate and each SM could report back how much of the test pattern was legible at each rate. The whole downlink test could finish in 16 seconds.

If you want an uplink result, then each SM has to take a turn at transmitting, so the length of the uplink test would depend on how many SM's there are. Could be minutes.

Right in the here and now though, you could have a script trigger a link test for every LUID via SNMP. Not too hard to do.

If you have newer software use the ‘link status’ page - it shows a much
nicer presentation of both sides.

The radios also take some time to reach full modulation.  Without traffic
newly registered links with stay in low modulation.  Force some traffic
through the link and modulation will increase, if the bit error rate is low
enough.    Increasing modulation takes into account the bit error rate, and
without data, there isn’t much to go on.  Slowly ramping up is arguably
better than going to full modulation and then having to drop back rapidly as
soon as data hits.

AP side.  Have you changed frequencies?  Spectrum analysis?  Is this the
