I'm afraid I'm not a member so can't read your WSJ article. I have read
a different article recently which theorized that he could make good on
his promise to build a wall and "Make Mexico pay for it" by
/confiscating/ money transfers from US to Mexico. Not simply blocking
them. Supposedly the executive branch can grant itself that level of
power by declaring a national emergency, and it's not unprecedented
because we have 30 "emergencies" in effect right now because every
president since Carter has been declaring one emergency or another and
the "emergency" condition doesn't always go away.
Definitely reckless. Maybe idiotic too.
