most of my battles are at the tower...checking surges checking cables...all check out and I still end up replacing it

For example, We typically hardest the UBNT radios and left the Mikrotiks to auto. Things seemed happier this way. The Gigabit specification says it should be auto everything. Sometimes this can have issues between vendors.
