CRC errors are frequently a surge suppressor issue. Sometimes they get wounded and cause errors.

Next most common is critters partly chewing through cable. For example, We typically hardest the UBNT radios and left the Mikrotiks to auto. Things seemed happier this way. The Gigabit specification says it should be auto everything. Sometimes this can have issues between vendors.
