My main issue with weird industrial ethernet switches is that they have terrible http and command line user interfaces, with a lot of features missing that can be found in 1U rackmount Cisco or Juniper switches. Having a device with "real" IOS or JunOS on it is invaluable from a larger scale network perspective at layers 3-7.
Sometimes this does mean special environmental enclosures for a switch that is not hardened, or buying one of these: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/switches/industrial-ethernet-switches/index.html On Tue, Nov 22, 2016 at 1:47 PM, Jaime Solorza <[email protected]> wrote: > I have recommended Moxa and Puls products to the list.
