You have both the dish cost and the cost of the tower work to swap out the
dishes. Where an adapter for an existing dish seems to be less resistance to
me.

I bet most AF11 buyers are taking the path of least resistance, and just using
the Jirous dishes.

I'm interested in adapters. But we haven't gotten to that point in time yet. I
think you have to give it more time before you see more orders...

I can convert a rectangular feed horn to round and then to connectorized.
But I have to have the feedhorn so that means the link goes down until the
conversion is complete.

I've said all along, it's probably easiest to convert a Remec round
interface, i.e. Trango ApexPlus and ApexLynx, of course ApexLynx is new enough
that you probably wouldn't replace it with an AF11. And we have a metric
shitload of ApexPlus deployed on Trango OEM dishes and Radiowaves HPx-11R's.

IIRC, the PTP800 ODU is just a rebranded Remec. In fact, I think it is
exactly the same as the ApexPlus and GigaPlus ODU. CTI's Apex9 LL is exactly
the same as the PTP800, just an OEM IDU and a Remec ODU.

I can do the Remec adapter, but you will still need a circular nose on the

Yeah - it's in service unfortunately. They are Remnec.

Could do. I have done lots of replacement and oddball feedhorns. Is
that dish currently in service? I would need to have the current feedhorn for
about a half hour to make sure I have the dimensions down correctly.

So - we are looking for an adapter that will allow us to re-use our
single polarity Commscope dishes (currently with PTP-800 radios). Anything up
your sleeve for that?

Kinda. Did a session at AnimalFarm about it. Not sure if I will
release it or not. I have adapters for DragonWave, Remec, Exalt and SAF
dishes. But there did not seem to be much enthusiasm.

        Hiya Chuck,

I seem to remember you talking about announcing something new for the
AF11x? Did this ever happen? Any other new products that were announced at
WISPAmerica this year?

        Josh
