Yeah, sounds like a procurement issue.
Like I said, if the gubbermint asks for my help/items in an emergency,
fine, and I expect compensation later. If they plan to just come take it
by force, then I have a problem with that. Good luck trying to get my
safe open in any reasonable amount of time, if ever.

That depends on the state I believe. Every guard unit I've heard of
normally has a small but respectable pile of 5.56 and 9mm in the arms
room vault at all times to handle emergencies.

Just a thought, but maybe they don't have their own ammo.
NY units don't have ammo. They request ammo from the regular army
when they need it (for training, etc), and they have to either use
it all or send it back. They started that policy after that guy
in California stole a tank. I think they figure if somebody goes
nuts with a tank at least he can't also go nuts with an M2 machine
gun and a 120mm cannon.

Authorized the national guard to seize firearms, ammo, and

Looks like either fake news or a sensational headline of
a general order. Seizing guns is a perfect way to get
thrown, no hurled, out of office. So good luck with that.
LE: hey, our station is under water and there are riots
downtown, can we borrow some guns?
Me: sure, right after i take pictures of you and
everything you take
vs
LE: we're here to confiscate your weapons and ammo
because the governor said so
Me: get the fuck off my property

Is PR running evacuations or anything? I dont know
much about their elevations or anything, but its
looking pretty grim. Are they under the FEMA
umbrella as a territory?
