I can't see myself using the 1k anywhere anymore.

Yeah, same here. The 2k nuts are never loose, but I still always check them. I
still use a lot of 1k's because of the 48v thing too... If the 2k ran on 24v,
I'd use them everywhere, but most of our older sites are 24v only, and I'm
lazy, so they get the 1k.

I noticed that on almost all of the 1k's we've bought. I always make sure the
SMA nuts are tight. I even check the 2k's since I'm paranoid.

The only place I really use the 1k anymore is existing smaller 24V sites,
because the 2k is 48VDC only.

The problem with the 1000 is that a lot of them used to come without the nut
thingies around the antenna connectors tightened all the way and water would
leak in there... at least that's the best theory I could come up with as to why
they leaked... anyway, I haven't had any fill with water since I started
tightening them more and slapping some clear Gorilla tape over the lights seems
to fix that problem pretty well.

I haven't seen any problems with the 2000 so far. They're a much better design,
in my opinion... at least they don't have any crummy little stickers that fall
off and leak.

I dont know man, not the most robust radio, i like it under the umbrella, with
the 1000 light covers popping off and filling them with water i have little
trust in the 2k

cold shrink tubing I suppose. Not sure if they make it that small.

you can use rfelements connectorized with the 2000 series or quickport with the
1000 series, thats probably your smallest footprint solution.

if you find a clean way to weatherize the top of the 2000 AP with the
connectorized that doesnt involve mastic please update

I'm looking to install an EPMP AP where the subs (force 180's) are only going
to be about 100 yards away, and within a few degrees of each other. There is an
existing mount already installed on the AP side, but it cannot handle something
the size of a normal sector. There is a bare FSK AP installed today, so that's
the form factor I'm replacing. Replacing the mount would be very difficult. Any
recommendations for small antennas for the EPMP line? There are other EPMP Ap's
at the site, so I would like to keep sync on the AP side, otherwise I would
just throw on a Force180 as an AP and be done.
