The link we have up and running is on 4.1.0-beta1 (which is what it's been on for months).
I don't remember exactly what short cp is supposed to do, but I have it off on ours. I think it's supposed to be able to get slightly better capacity in some cases, or something like that, but our link seemed to work better with it off.
