You can't upload yourself. You exist a layer above this physical realm.
Super Mario can't upload the controlling player "into" Luigi. It does not work. Likewise a saved gamestate or savegame does not (and can not) contain any information about the controlling entity (the player).
The controlling entity is superdimensional and can not be accessed from the virtualized reality frame. A human body (including the brain) is just an avatar and just because the consciousness which is _YOU_ identifies with a particular human story (in your case "Matt") does not give the human body within this particular reality frame the ability to upload/access/alter/etc. the controlling entity (_YOU_ the consciousness).
A Night Elf nobody currently identifies with (controls) is just an object in memory with potential abilities (accessed via class functions) which are all limited to alter/access information within the virtualized world. A Night Elf itself can not do anything in regards to the "hosting" reality ... let alone upload the controlling player (which exists in a superdimension of WoW) into anything existing within its virtualized reality.
The notion of uploading and cryonics, etc. is most absurd. It only appears to be a valid concept to fully identified consciousness which truly believes to be its avatar/story. Freezing your Night Elf does nothing to the controlling entity ...
Not wanting to die ... wanting to be more than your avatar ... that's normal ... but there is no death in the first place ... and you are _always_ free to transcend your avatar/story any time ... it's just very hard to escape the story which makes up your entire alleged existence as _something_. Some people struggle for years just to stop smoking ... and some people (or rather chunks of consciousness) struggle many lifetimes to overcome the habit of believing to be _something_ ... some entity within this vast field which is you.
Strongly identified chunks of consciousness even have trouble to "let go" of their human story after their avatar dies ... just like some teenagers are having huge issues with letting go of their LVL9000 Night Elf ... there is a nice book on this subject ...

An upload is a robot that looks and acts like you.
