justcamel: Samsara is a reality for a lot of people, people come back to reincarnate in order to learn things. Everyone upon death is released from the body in the form of soul and is not forced to find another body. However for people spiritual development incarnation is recommended.
Having robot bodies offers a lot of new experiences, especially in the sensory and cognitive realms, though also through a diversity of possible actuators and body plans. Stefan: I agree with you that uploading can't work on it's own, it must also have a soul transfer in co-ordination. Grey aliens and some Buddhists have known about soul transfer for a while, an example from Buddhism is Trong Jug. If you've seen Naruto (the anime) they have a character that gets willing young people to donate their bodies, so this arch nemesis character can body hop into them. If we have a robot host body that has a good enough soul-interface and functionality then it would be worthwhile to body-hop into them. I'm thinking it might be possible (in far future) to password protect a cache of bodies, so only your soul can gain access to them. Our Earth homo sapien tech is still so weak in this department that human level robot host bodies are probably still a couple centuries away. One channeling I saw said 178 years. However in the meantime we can focus on AI assistants that have a similar feel to incarnating into a robot host bodies, which means that we can have transhuman cyborg like experience much sooner. Like with augmented reality and maybe some kind of keyboard gloves.
