Right you are Matt! Luck, Free Will, Consciousness, Quantum level, God, Immortality, Never Wrong (Bliss), etc make us feel like we have something magical/great, and you have to barely do anything to get them! They all share one element: Surprise/Perplexity, the believers can't predict accurately and are mystified, so they take the magic and run with it to the nearest hole that really is the optimal solution at all. However our Desire to Survive in Evolution stays the same strength no matter if we think we are magical spirits or robots. Kids age 0-5 and dogs don't even have thoughts talking about God, Free Will, etc. They aren't brainwashed yet about Santa and Jesus etc and how they can only ever have 1 mom and dad or child that HAS to come from u (you can create/adopt similar ones and love them ever more). This is aimed for protecting your own offspring/self and your own ideas you push. For old people to start over and deny their God, requires certain eye witness proof or starting at the root layer of their brain where food/sex create all higher rewards like games home construction etc. For kids this is easier, they don't have to drop a lot of knowledge, rewire, and don't conclude they have so much evidence supporting themselves yet. Rule #1, always check things out and don't hide. And do it peacefully. An issue is when you lack diverse data and lies supporting other lies, reinforcing their prediction.
