I have read through all the definitions and have compiled a new definition that I would like to use. It is based on a definition that can be used to help construct an AGI because it describes key properties of what understanding is comprised. Noun: As a thing: An understanding is a model of something that you believe to be true because of your experiences. As a process: Understanding is something you do to create the model. Verb: To understand is to have such a model. The model is a mental representation of the structure, composition, relationships and operation of the thing that you understand.
