There was a time when agi forum members were convinced they were ahead of the times. Now, there's the mainstream narrative of them/they and us not we.,Suddenly, AGI became part of the "them/they".
This "language of rhetoric brainwashing" speaks of a defeatist attitude, which IMO, was brought about by being years ahead of the curve, and being too short-sighted to realize how the world government, governments, and big industry would react to bleeding-edge ideas and designs they could skim at will from groups such as AGI. In a sense, the "we" create the "them/they". It requires intelligence to realise that it would also require the "we/us" to uncreate/mitigate it. It's going to take superintelligence and resources to turn around the reality we desired so much. I really don't see much of that happening, but one can hope for enlightenment.
