SERGIO> Maybe. But they work. Which is all that matters if we are building a machine. Nancy's work is not going to change that. Her work, actually, is very close to mine. Physicists take pride of themselves that Physics is objective. But there is a giant step between a direct observation of nature, such as the one obtained by a camera, and the actual pattern (or theory of Physics) generated by a scientist's brain. The essence of Physics has always been to select the simplest cases, cases where patterns do have an actual explanation, then use their brains to find that explanation and publish it as a theory.
