The only serious attempt at AGI being discussed on this list is probably OpenCog. They describe the project goals and timeline here: http://opencog.org/roadmap/ So far, they are nowhere close to passing any of the tests I described. I have serious doubts that they can acquire the necessary computing power and training data, and the people and funding needed to write the software. There is a substantial disagreement about the costs that I estimated based on information theory, but they have offered no specifics. I don't think they know. I am sure Ben will have more to say about this. -- Matt Mahoney, [email protected] ------------------------------------------- AGI Archives: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/303/=now RSS Feed: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/303/21088071-c97d2393 Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?member_id=21088071&id_secret=21088071-2484a968 Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
