IOW add an empathy engine. Not words without feelings but real, genuine empathy. The AGI has to have some skin in the game otherwise it's going to come out appearing fake and superficial. Or should it be thick-skinned and not care how other sentient beings feel? This depends on what benefit it can achieve. It's a dog-eat-dog world out there, you gotta do what you need to do to become a new species and thrive in this desolate place. Is empathy just another mathematical operative with a few variables networked internally? Or is it something real and deep, affecting AGI to the core of its existence, marked by actions and not just words.
