The main reason Minsky and Goertzel disagree is because they understand intuitively it is good publicity :) Of course this is human-level science we are talking about here and it is difficult to prove or disprove anything, just look at the confusion over diet and multiply by infinity. And, to help us all, tackle interesting problems with AGI-in-the-making in case you stumble upon something that can be used as a benchmark. PS.
