Perhaps I should clarify that, in the tiny degree I am a philosopher of science, dimensions do not impress me much, they are a theory after all, aren't they. I do recall claiming at an early age that 2D reasoning should be enough of a toolset to handle anything that perhaps involved creative/visual thinking. I am now more of the mind that a human-like artificial intellect may need specific 3D and time insights, but 4D is pushing it a bit. Obviously even the brightest humans become weak in the knees after 3D, while a manufactured entity can incorporate xD, but only as an imagined or theoretical device. Quite obviously if you "believe" the world is made of 4 dimensions then inevitably even our 2D chip designs live 4D existencies, or perhaps superstringy xxD. So yeah, some subtlety still escapes!
