There's been a lot of work in the last decades connecting physics/communication-theory information with computational/algorithmic information...
And of course, algorithmic information is the basis of the Solomonoff / Hutter / Schmidhuber etc. approach to AGI Also recall Read Montague's work portraying cognitive function, esp. decision making, in terms of entropy minimization...
