Yes it is more difficult to carefully study a lot of texts and papers and to put a lot of effort in understanding what the experts are mumbling, but, we also need to avoid wasting our time pursuing methods that have not worked and over broiled conjectures. And we also need to avoid wasting too much time trying to understand something that is not within our field of primary interest or which is way beyond our current skills. While I regret getting carried away too often, I do not regret making the long effort to get some other people to argue their case or argue against my conjectures.Jim Bromer
