Some have never calculated how much money we spend on paying people to do work that machines aren't smart enough to do. Some have never calculated how much computing power you need to run a human brain sized neural network in real time. Some have never calculated how many bits of input you receive through your senses during your lifetime. Some have never calculated the information content of human DNA and compared it to an equivalent amount of software. Some have never calculated how many molecular computing operations it took to code that DNA and build human civilization out of primordial goop using a search algorithm as simple as we all wished AI were. -- -- Matt Mahoney, [email protected] ------------------------------------------- AGI Archives: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/303/=now RSS Feed: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/303/21088071-f452e424 Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?member_id=21088071&id_secret=21088071-58d57657 Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
