Seriously? It seems to be a memmetic parasite. It has two components: It only infects people who think of themselves as being highly logical. and it involves an ontological framework with subtle slants that basically have the conclusion (uploading) built into the premises. Put these two together and you get an uploader. But smarter people, such as me (and everyone else) can see the trap and select ontological frameworks that actually serve the things we really do want to do with our existences. But, seriously. Who the fuck are you to pronounce everybody who doesn't want to upload as being wrong? Why can't transhumanism be genuinely supportive of EVERY sane-ish desire and ALL plausible technological roadmaps? Why must it be uploading, only uploading and nothing but uploading and the only roadmap being the shortest possible path to uploading.... Yes, there is certainly a bunch of science I could do (actually need to do) on a generic simulated brain but that is the only practical application of uploading... -- IQ is a measure of how stupid you feel.
