I have no difficulty believing someone who doesn't know the rules of the game will perform badly against skilled human players. However, considering that computers can defeat grandmasters, I find myself rather skeptical of the proposition that someone who doesn't even know the rules of the game can play well against computers :-) I learned to play Go at the novice level with a little casual playing against computers, then when I took on a human player many ranks above me, I won, so in that game at least I can say playing against computers does appear to constitute useful instruction. ------------------------------------------- agi Archives: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/303/=now RSS Feed: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/303/ Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?member_id=8660244&id_secret=117534816-b15a34 Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
