I've spent all day improving the build system so that those of you on Linux/MacOS X (I think) can have a much easier route to building packages of the compiled engine and game code as well as all the other bits that go together to make up AQ. This should make the barriers to entry for new developers much lower in the near future.

I've not uploaded all of the changes to our Subversion server, because I need to test them a bit more, but I have made some packages available of the latest beta release. Unfortunately the webspace they're on has gone pear-shaped so I'll have to get back to you again with the addresses once my ISP have fixed it.

I haven't got access to a Windows development box at the moment, so the Windows package is just a ZIP that contains the setup.iss file which InnoSetup uses to create the various setup.exe files you're used to. But if you want to test the new release, please do.

I'll soon be looking to anyone who uses Linux and wishes to help me get the build system finished to help me out soon (it will be good to test and improve it based on your experiences of it being used on a clean system that's not seen AudioQuake's code before).

In the meantime, bed for me!

bye just now,
