Dear Colleagues
I would draw everyone's attention to the "ABC of Emergency Radiology"
edited by DA Nicholson and PA Driscoll 1995 (new edition is expected
this year) published by BMJ, to this entire issue. It has been know for
some time that the erect abdomen "adds little diagnostic value
information to the standard supine abdominal radiograph and erect chest
radiograph" (p58). The standard text on Diagnostic Imaging edited by
David Sutton has been saying this for years.
