Ahhhh - at last a glimmer of light. Thank you, Sheryl.

My turn on the barrel.

I refer to the drum beatings I made on this list a few weeks ago. If you
want to progress, don't stand still.
Advance and be recognised.

Time to get Radiographer Initiated Opinion underway.

I hope that several trials will get moving across this fair land, comparing
Radiographer (yes I used THAT word) opinion coupled with Emergency
Dept M/O
opinion combined, to the "gold standard" of the Radiologist. Betcha it
comes to a similar figure (95% accuracy).

Now all sorts of developments could arise from this simple practice.
BUT -
are our academic institutions ready to provide support??
If not, then it's time to shake the tree.

With NIXR and Nurse Practitioner developments giving a faint sense of
insecurity to some of our kith and kin, let us put the case of our skills
being of value in the situations where there is no immediate Radiologist
opinion available. We could always develop this along the UK
lines...... What for the future - it's up to you - yes you.

Stirring, as always

Ken
