It all depends ..,

Most newer/modern cars do not
require a retorque, but I'd go by what the mfr states in the manual.

Also, many newer cars use torque to yield bolts. These definitely DO NOT get retorqued. However, often these types of bolts cannot be reused and MUST be replaced.

They are designed to stretch, and will not hold properly if re-used.

Should I retorque the head with the engine hot, or after it cools back down? I remember that on my GTV6, Fred D. recommended bringing the engine up to temp and then retorquing hot. What do you guys do?
