Curious. As far as I know, the fuel pump should only be energized when the
starter is running or when the key is in the "run" position and flap of the
airflow meter is open. You might want to check into your airflow meter.
Perhaps the flap is being held open by something or the switch may be
damaged. If the pump is loud, especially if the sound is anything other
than a whine or whooshing sound, it may be shot.
