>i had my 164 trailered to Chicago (~250 miles) to get the timing belt >and cam angle sensor replaced by someone who knows what he's doing, >& while there the clutch & windshield. >That was JANUARY ! i call him occasionally and he always says it will >be done in the next week or two.
>Anyone have any experience or ideas about how to get the guy to get >my car done ?? It depends who the guy is. 8 months is kind of a lot, but if you're calling to say hello every couple of weeks, he might not even be paying attention to how much time has passed, or know that you're getting anxious. What's the nature of your conversations? I'd try calling, explain your frustrations, and let the mechanic know that you need the car back by a certain date. See what the response is. You might also let him know that you're coming to pick it up, regardless of the state of work (that's probably a good idea anyhow). Small shops can get busy, and if somebody isn't pushing them, they might not think that you're anxious to get it back.
