I just went through this with my '82 GTV6 Balocco. I was lucky enough to
get one from Giuseppe at Alfa Import Center in Charlotte, North Carolina
([email protected]). You might try posting in Classifieds at
the AlfaBB.com.

Repairing doesn't work as gasoline is an excellent solvent and any
sealant/glue just dissolves. Good luck.

Subject: [alfa] GTV-6 Gas filler pipe to tank neck connector

Just wondering if anyone has come up with a solution to the deterioration of
the rubber connector between the gas filler pipe and the gas tank neck on
the GTV-6?

Over time, the flexible connector develops cracks which allow gas to seep
into the trunk when the tank is nearly full.

I've checked with several suppliers, and I've been told that the part has
been discontinued. I have not been able to find a suitable replacement.

The main issue is that the two pipes are significantly different is OD. The
filler pipe is approximately 2 1/4: OD, and the gas tank neck is
approximately 1 15/16" OD. Contributing to the problem is the location of
the gas tank neck which is placed on the upper side of the tank body. This
keeps gas in the neck until the tank is below half full. If the car sits on
a slight downhill slant to the left, gas sits in the rubber connector, and
oozes into the trunk.

BTW, by car is a 1985. Maybe other years are different.

Any suggestions for repairing the cracks?

TIA
