My brain didn't process the comma when I read this the first time.. >2) I seem to remember that section of hose not being very long. Take it to >an auto part store and see if you can find a stepped down hose of the >proper >diameters on both sides. Then hopefully it's as simple as cutting it off >the proper distance on either side of the step down. >Right, 4.6" Have you tried locating a stepped down hose of the proper diameters on both ends? If you can find such a hose and cut it down to the 4.6".. >3) If the hose is long enough, then two sections of hose of the proper >diameters and a muffler pipe stepped down (with four hose clamps), as I >think somebody else suggested, might do the trick. >Problem, only 2.7" between pipes That may be enough. I don't think there's a ton of flexing going on there. If you can find a muffler step down pipe of the proper OD on both ends, you should be able to cut it to, say, 3/4" to 1" on either side of the step, and end up with something close to the 2.7". Now find two pieces of hose with the right ID, and use them as sleeves, with a couple of hose clamps on each one. If it's tight, you might be able to trim a tiny bit off the filler neck (pump side). If you shorten the neck going into the gas tank, be sure to stuff a rag in there to catch any metal shavings.. bs -- to be removed from alfa, see http://www.digest.net/bin/digest-subs.cgi or email "unsubscribe alfa" to [email protected]
