I have to replace a window lifter myself (I have one) How difficult a job is
it?--Re the lube--
you could try using paraffin--get it at a supermarket-- with the door panel
off, you can rub the block (you'll have to trim it down first) in the channel.
This won't mess anything up. You can also rub it in the channel above the
door.

On another subject, the passenger side window of the GTV 6 is pretty slow. 
I suspect there needs to be some kind of lube in the window tracks that
guide it  up. With the least bit of finger pressure helping it along, it seems
much  happier going up. Is there a non destructive spray I can put on there
to see if  this is all it needs? On another GTV 6, I changed the motor in
the door, so I  have an idea of what's inside. Before I go looking in there,
it just seems like  a 26 year old mechanism that's never been lubed is the
most likely place to  start.
