And here lies the point,, what new things we have in this discussion say VLC and Windows Media player are better than what you had as they’re being developed and deliberately being kept up to date, user feedback is being evaluated with regards to these and future products. So look at the subject line which talks about a new version for Winamp, where is it?

What made it such a big thing with the blind? Maybe I didn't give it much a chance. But actually the 1 I used felt odd. But I only tried it. But seeing it doesn't have SRS Wow like Media Player does, I don't use it much. Meh I've tried it for streaming but that's about all. I do know lots of people love WinAmp. I have homies that do.On 10/11/2018 12:04 AM, Tom Kaufman wrote:While I've not dealt with every type of media player that ever was, I don't see how one could get a whole lot better (as far as accessibility is concerned) than Winamp; just my opinion, you understand!Tom Kaufman -----Original Message-----From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Kelly PierceSent: Wednesday, October 10, 2018 10:37 PM To: [email protected]Subject: Re: [all-audio] Famous media player Winamp new version with Windows 10 support leaks onlineDane, Winamp is the most accessible media player for the blind. It may be old, but it is highly functional. I am listening to online radio with it as I type this message. Braille slates are more than 80 years old but they are still used because they are useful. I also own and use a minidisc recorder. It is somewhat ancient, but it remains highly effective for spoken word recording. The popular media player for Windows is expected to makeacomeback at some point. Winamp was launched by independent developersbackin 1997 and it grew quickly popular with over 3 million downloads in ashortspan of time. In a couple of years, Winamp became one of the most downloaded Windows applications. The app was sold to AOL in 1999 for $80 million but it later acquired by Radionomy in 2014. Radionomy, the current developers of famous Winamp promised that the app will receive a newupdate with several new features. A while ago, the developers publishedrelease notes of an update but no downloadable package was available forusers to try out. Winamp developers promised major updates ever sinceit took over the company and we arestillwaiting for that day. It's an old and outdated app but it's still beingused by millions ofusers.A new version of Winamp, which was last developed on October 26, 2016,hasleaked online. Winamp 5.8 has been published by an unknown source andit's not from the official developers. It's also worth noting that VirusTotal scan generates two differentwarningsfor the app, so we are not including the link to unreleased Winamp updateinthis article. Winamp works fine on Windows 10 The Winamp 5.8 comes with several new features and improvements including support for Windows 8.1and Windows 10. It is, however, worth noting that public and stable version of the appworkssmoothly on Windows 10, but Winamp 5.8 is supposed to addresscompatibilityissues with Windows 10. As noted above, this release of Winamp comes with several other improvements. For example, there's a dedicated setting that lets youdisableWinamp's video support and the company has also fixed some bugs to improve the overall performance of the player. The current owner hasn't officially announced any updates for the app butasthe beta has just leaked out, there's a chance that an official statement will be released soon. It's also possible that the developers areinternallytesting a new and improved version of the app with better support forWindows 10. At this point, it's not yet known whether a new Winamp release is plannedornot. We are waiting for additional details from the developers and wewill update this article if and when a statement is available.********** Those of a positive and enquiring frame of mind will leave the rest of the halfwits in this world behind.( https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=emailclient&utm_term=icon ) Virus-free. www.avast.com ( https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=emailclient&utm_term=link ) ( #DAB4FAD8-2DD7-40BB-A1B8-4E2AA1F9FDF2 )
