Hi,
I've been looking for a decent way of recording Skype, and other more
standard VOIP applications, on the iPhone. If the app, like Skype, doesn't have
a recording function built-in, is there a way of recording it without external
hardware? I know what you say below, Mr. Wright, is talking about Windows
machine, and there is never a problem in recording from Windows machines,
whether with Skype or any other VOIP application. I'm interested in mobile
recording, though, iPhone preferred, but Android also available.
I should say that calls with skype to landlines are not free, you
require either a paid subscription or a pay-as-you-go balance.

As someone who edits podcast episodes for clients, I often see this question,
or a similar one.
You can use Skype with a recording program. I recommend MP3 Skype Recorder.
You would use Skype to make the call and MP3 Skype recorder to record
the call.
If my memory is correct, you can make calls for free. You will need to
purchase a phone number from Skype in order to make calls. I'm not sure
about the audio transcription part of it.
