Hi,

I'm a bit confused, if I may say so. I thought Skype recording was only
available for skype conversations, not for phone calls (that is, not for what
Skype calls, or used to call, "skype out"). I have tried to use this function
on phone calls but don't seem to be able to on the iPhone. Has anyone been
successful in doing this and, if so, how? Certainly, if you don't value
privacy, automatic recording, or non-notified recording, you can record both
audio and video Skype conversations, but those three problems are rather large.
With TeamTalk, you can record quite easily, too. I was asking about a solution
which would allow the recording of audio for all VOIP applications on the phone
without conferencing, something outside the VOIP application itself.

I am new to all of this, but while researching this over the last few days it
seems like Skype recently implemented it's own built in recorder. Again just
have been recently researching this so could have read it wrong.

Hi,

I've been looking for a decent way of recording Skype, and other more
standard VOIP applications, on the iPhone. If the app, like Skype, doesn't have
a recording function built-in, is there a way of recording it without external
hardware? I know what you say below, Mr. Wright, is talking about Windows
machine, and there is never a problem in recording from Windows machines,
whether with Skype or any other VOIP application. I'm interested in mobile
recording, though, iPhone preferred, but Android also available.
I should say that calls with skype to landlines are not free, you
require either a paid subscription or a pay-as-you-go balance.

As someone who edits podcast episodes for clients, I often see this question,
or a similar one.

You can use Skype with a recording program. I recommend MP3 Skype Recorder.

You would use Skype to make the call and MP3 Skype recorder to record the call.

If my memory is correct, you can make calls for free. You will need to purchase
a phone number from Skype in order to make calls. I'm not sure about the audio
transcription part of it.
