I think you would get more delay using a bluetooth headset.

Hi.
I own an iPhone 8 and there really shouldn’t be too much of any problem.
Now I don’t have the microphone as yet so I can’t give a definitive answer but
the App alone does work with the Built-in microphone of the iPhone and I could
easily monitor both from my Bluetooth headset though one may need an adapter to
plug headphones into the dock whilst using the Shure microphone itself,.
I was surprised at how little delay there was between what was being recorded
and what was being heard through the headphones.

Hi, Dane. I owned this microphone for a while and liked it, but ultimately sold
it because i wasn't using it. Anyone who owns an iphone 7 or above may have
problems because these phones do not have a headphone jack. I don't know how
you would monitor the audio of this mic on one of these later iphones.

Hi!
Thought others may find this review of interest.
I have played about with the associated App and have found it to be
accessible and very useable thus far though I don't have the Shure
microphone as yet but I have bought it so we will see the differences in the
App then.
Here's the review.
