I can't recommend a book for identifying hepatica hybrids. Perhaps someone else will jump in. All: There's an article about Hepatica maxima hybrids in the December 2010 Plantsman: http://www.rhs.org.uk/RHSWebsite/files/d5/d5e2e573-a4e1-4b33-85b0-dbea66dde346.pdf . The work of Severin Schlyter, source of Ilse's seeds, is discussed and a hybrid is named for him. I grow H. maxima and some other species but as far as I know they have not crossed. Maxima I love. It's so furry. A friend said that in the rain, it looks like a wet cat.
