Thanks, guys, for straightening me out about the nationality of Herr Welwitsch.
This really threw me, because I have a distinct recollection of having discussed this (or so I thought) on-line years ago. And I definitely remember that the conclusion of those discussions was that he was Belgian. But a quick check shows that nobody else agrees with that. #$&^%*#%*&$*$*^ Oh, now I remember: that thread was about Max Wichura. Can anyone confirm that Max Wichura was Belgian? And if that does not work, to save face, can anyone confirm that Hercule Poirot was Belgian? Jim McKenney
