Anybody tried the David Austin roses? I've had 23 of them for 8 to 10 years so far, never cover them, and they have all done fine in spite of zone 4 winters. Also, I never spray except in June when I have to do something about a little green worm that, if I did not take action, would eat every leaf in about 3 days. Hardly see any black spot, no rust, no mildew. They bloom like h.... in early June and then off and on all summer, right until they freeze up. 'Mary Rose' is the world's most beautiful rose. 'Graham Thomas' is a close contender. 'Iceberg', my least fav rose in the world, is also rock hardy. Figures.
