Years ago(late 60"s?) Organic Gardening Magazine had an article on Japanese
testing of spices as fungicides. On cinnamon and cloves they could not get any
fungus to grow. I have used strong teas of both as a fungicidal spray with
excellent success, with no apparent damage to the seedlings or plants, for both
damping off and mildew.
