I have managed to send this plant to the great beyond several times now. I can keep it alive for a season or two and even get it to flower most admirably---whereupon it soon expires. It seems that, for whatever reason, my part of Idaho is not suitable for this delightful plant. I have tried a few different strategies to stave off the inevitable all to no avail. I would love to know the secret recipe to keep this species alive for more than a few season.

Several rock gardeners in Oregon grow it outdoors with an insousiance most trying to me in my more sodden climate.
