-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The photo of the Farrer Medal winner Kalmiopsis is good, but I wonder if the color of the flowers was influenced by flash photography? Or does the form grown in the UK typically have flowers that are paler pink than we're accustomed to see here in the plant's native region? The medal winning plant was a super example but I amunsure if it is truly a paler form or if the plant may havebeen opened under glass, which would acccount for a paler flower.The form which gained a First Class Certificate many years ago, when shown by the late Harold Esslemont of Aberdeen,is indeed much darker and remains so very happily in our Aberdeen gardenon North East Scotland.
