Sorry, my reply got mangled! The medal winning plant was a super example but I amunsure if it is truly a paler form or if the plant may havebeen opened under glass, which would acccount for a paler flower.The form which gained a First Class Certificate many years ago, when shown by the late Harold Esslemont of Aberdeen,is indeed much darker and remains so very happily in our Aberdeen gardenon North East Scotland.
