Hi Larry & et al, Well Rhododendron maximum isn't a native of the East coast, if you consider anything east of the Mississippi as the East Coast! We only have three rhodys in the West, R. occidentale, R. macrophyllum and R. albiflorum (unless you also consider Ledum groenlandicum a rhody).
