not an option for you, since you probably already have the product,
but to all others:

*simply do not buy philips products* !

it's been the same with MOTU, some vendors are just ignorant of a
large potential customer base. fortunately, there are alternatives.
go tell everybody you know not to buy philips, eventually some guy
working for them will read that and wonder what's going on, in which
case we might see the situation improve in a few years....

when i read such marketing babble like the reply you got, i feel too
much time has already been wasted with these guys.
